　　Once upon the occurrence of the Yushu (Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture,QinghaiProvince) Earthquake of 7.1 magnitude on April 14th, all sectors and all walks of life have taken swift actions in quakerelief under the strong leadership of the central authority. MOR worked out emergency plans at the first time and ordered all railway administrations to secure first priority to quake relief transportation. MOR Party Secretary & Minister Liu Zhijun rushed to Xining in the afternoon of April 16thtodirect transportation in person at the freight yard of Xining Railway Station and convey greetings to the front line railway staffs. “Railway,as thenation’s key infrastructure, shall shoulder the unshirkable responsibility of quake relief. 　　An inauguration ceremony was held for the China Railway Pavilion of the Shanghai World Expo 2010 in the morning of April 22nd. At the opening ceremony, MORPartySecretary & MinisterLiuZhijunrequested relevant departments to well use the Pavilion as a window topublicize the railway modernization achievements, illustrate the theme of “harmonious railway opening new horizons for better life” and present CR’s contribution to the well-being of the people as well as the sound and rapid socio-economic development, and to make the Pavilion a point of attraction of the Expo Park so as to contribute to a successful, wonderful and unforgettable World Expo.
　　
　　4月25日,邯郸(邢台)至黄骅港铁路建设动员大会在河北邢台举行。铁道部党组书记、部长刘志军,河北省委书记、省人大常委会主任张云川,河北省委副书记、省长陈全国出席动员大会。张云川宣布工程开工,刘志军、陈全国在会上讲话。邯郸(邢台)至黄骅港铁路纵贯邯郸、邢台、衡水、沧州等河北省内主要地市,与京广、京九、石德、京沪等铁路干线相连,线路全长432.5公里,为国铁I级单线电气化铁路,贯通线预留双线条件,设计时速120公里。
　　A construction kick-off meeting was held in Xingtai, HeibeiforHandan (Xingtai)-Huanghuagang Railway on April 25th. MOR Party Secretary & Minister Liu Zhijun, Hebei Secretary & NPC HebeiChairman Zhang Yunchuan and Hebei Under-Secretary & Governor Chen Quanguo attended themeeting. ZhangYunchuan announcedthe commencement of the project, Liu Zhijun and Chen Quanguo delivered key note speeches. This railway will pass the majorcitiesofHebei, including Handan, Xingtai, Hengshui and Cangzhou, linking the trunk lines of Beijing-Guangzhou, Beijing-Kowloon, Beijing-Shanghai and ShiDe. This 432.5km new railway, Class I, electrified and single-tracked withreserved condition for double tracking, is designed for a speed at 120 km/h.
