　　3月26日,沪昆铁路客运专线长沙至昆明段在贵阳拉开建设帷幕。中共中央政治局委员、国务院副总理张德江出席沪昆客运专线长沙至昆明段建设动员大会,宣布工程开工并为工程奠基。铁道部、国家发展和改革委员会与贵州、湖南、云南三省领导表示,要以科学发展观为指导,认真贯彻落实全国两会精神,加强领导,精心组织,密切配合,把沪昆客运专线长沙至昆明段建设成经得起历史考验的精品工程、样板工程、示范工程。
　　Construction of Shanghai-Kunming PDL (Changsha-Kunmingsection) was started in Guiyang on March 26th. Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee & Vice Premier Zhang Dejiang announced the commencement and laid foundation for the project at the ceremony. MOR, NDRC, Guizhou, Hunan and Yunnan leaders expressed to adhere to the scientific view on development, earnestly implement the NPC and CPPCC gist, and conduct elaborate management, organization and collaboration so as to buildt his PDL into a time-tested project.
　　
　　3月27日上午,中共中央政治局委员、北京市委书记刘淇,北京市委副书记、市长郭金龙率北京市党政代表团,往返乘坐京津城际铁路高速列车进行考察,认真听取了铁道部党组书记、部长刘志军关于北京枢纽客运站布局及分工优化调整方案的介绍,表示北京市充分理解、完全支持这个方案,并将密切配合铁路部门,主动做好征地拆迁等相关工作,积极推动方案加快实施,早日将北京枢纽客运站建设成为世界一流水平的现代化车站。
　　Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee & Beijing Secretary Liu Qi and Beijing Under-Secretary & Mayor GuoJinlong led amunicipal delegation to make a round-trip visit to Beijing-Tianjin Inter-City Line by high speed train in the morning of March 27th. The delegation was briefed by MOR Party Secretary & Minister Liu Zhijun on Beijing passenger hub terminals layout and the optimization plan of their respective functions. Beijing leaders expressed their full understanding and concurrence on the plan and pledged to work closely with the railway departments on land clearance management as well as the other aspects so as to build world-class passenger hub terminals in Beijing in a timely manner.
　　
　　3月22日上午,成都至重庆铁路客运专线 (重庆段)建设动员大会在重庆市隆重举行。中共中央政治局委员、重庆市委书记薄熙来出席大会并宣布工程开工。铁道部党组书记、部长刘志军,重庆市委副书记、市长黄奇帆在会上讲话。3月21日晚,薄熙来在重庆市委亲切接见了来重庆出席铁路开工动员大会的刘志军一行。随后,铁道部、重庆市签署了加快重庆市铁路建设会议纪要。
　　A construction kick-off meeting was held in Chongqing on the morning of March 22nd for Chengdu-Chongqing PDL(Chongqingsection). Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee & Chongqing Secretary Bo Xilai announced the commencement of the project at the ceremony. MOR Party Secretary & Minister Liu Zhijun and Chongqing Under-Secretary & Mayor Huang Qifan delivered speech. 　　3月10日,铁道部党组书记、部长刘志军与湖北省委书记、省人大常委会主任罗清泉,湖北省委副书记、省长李鸿忠在铁道部举行会谈,并签署加快湖北铁路建设发展的会议纪要。双方一致表示,要抓住机遇,乘势而上,加快完善湖北现代化铁路网布局,大幅提升武汉九省通衢、沿江达海、承东启西、贯通南北的独特区位优势,为促进湖北经济社会又好又快发展、推动国家中部崛起战略作出重要贡献。

　　3月12日,铁道部党组书记、部长刘志军与辽宁省委书记、省人大常委会主任王珉,辽宁省委副书记、省长陈政高在铁道部举行会谈,签署加快辽宁铁路建设发展会议纪要。双方一致表示,要深入贯彻落实科学发展观,按照全国两会部署,紧紧抓住中央进一步实施东北振兴战略和辽宁沿海经济带开发开放上升为国家战略的历史机遇,以调整经济结构和转变经济发展方式为主线,加快辽宁现代化铁路网建设,为推动辽宁三大发展战略、促进辽宁经济社会又好又快发展提供可靠的基础设施保障。
　　MOR Party Secretary & Minister Liu Zhijun held talks with Liaoning Secretary & NPC Liaoning Chairman Wang Min and Liaoning Under-Secretary & Governor Chen Zhenggao atMOR on March 12th and the two parties signed minutes of talks on acceleratingLiaoning’ s railway development. 　　4月7日,铁道部部长刘志军在北京会见了老挝人民革命党中央政治局委员、常务副总理宋沙瓦・凌沙瓦一行。双方就进一步加强中老两国铁路合作进行了交谈。会见后,在宋沙瓦常务副总理的见证下,刘志军部长与老挝人民革命党中央委员、公共工程与运输部部长宋玛・奔舍那共同签署了《中华人民共和国铁道部与老挝人民民主共和国公共工程与运输部关于铁路合作的谅解备忘录》。
　　Minister Liu Zhijun met with visiting Member of the Political Bureau of the LPRP Central Committee & Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Somsavat Lengsvad in Beijing on April 7th. The two parties held talks on the strengthening of Sino-Lao railway cooperation, after which, Minister Liu Zhijun and Member of the LPRP Central Committee & Lao Minister for Public Works and Transport Sommath Pholsena signed MOU between Chinese MOR and Lao MPWT on Railway Cooperation, with the witness of Lao DeputyPrime Minister H.E. 　　合肥市儿童福利院收养被拐儿童
　　3月11日,合肥铁路公安处民警来到合肥市儿童福利院看望去年9月被该处解救的两名被拐儿童。这两名儿童被解救后一直未能找到亲生父母,现被合肥市儿童福利院收养。
　　The policewomen of Hefei Railway Police Division came over to Hefei Municipal Orphanage on March 11th to visit two children, who were kidnapped and rescued last September. The two children haven’t found their parents yet and are adopted by the Orphanage.
　　
　　进藏旅客列车通过申中特大桥
　　青藏铁路在建西格二线申中特大桥全长3700多米,属青藏铁路西格线最长大桥。该大桥的建成通车,有效缓解了进藏旅客和物资运输的 “瓶颈”制约。
　　A key component of the on-going Xining-Golmud link II Project, the 3700-meter Shenzhong Extra Large Bridge is the longest bridge on Xining-Golmud link of Qinghai-Tibet Line. The completion and launch of the bridge has effectively eased the transportation bottleneck inbound Tibet.
