清代以后,河北作为京畿要地,更是与北京血脉相连,数次关乎国家命运转折的大事件都发生在这里。有清一代,直隶总督凡99任、75人,皆为国家重臣。设置在保定的直隶总督署,亦被称为省府第一衙门。
另一个与国运息息相关的地方便是承德的避暑山庄。这里是清代帝王靖绥北方、扬鞭耀武的另一个战场。
在抵定国家和民族最终命运的最后时刻,中国的革命者也是从河北一个名不见经传的小小村庄西柏坡走出来,走向北京,走向崭新的中国,使中华民族于百病沉疴中涅重生。
After Qing Dynasty, as the cradle of China’s capital, Hebei has been closely linked with Beijing politically as some of the “big issues” of national significance took place here. During the whole Qing Dynasty, the 99 viceroys of Zhili Province were held by 75 officials, who were among the top-ranking decision makers. The Viceroy Office was regarded as the No 1 Provincial Office of Qing Dynasty.
Another place of the nationally political significance is Chengde Mountain Summer Resort. In Qing Dynasty, Chengde Summer Resort was the platform on which the emperors pacified on one hand and showed their muscles to the nomadic forces on the other.
Within the blink of an eye, Ming and Qing dynasties have been the tiny dusts in history, and the Chinese nation led by revolutionary has been vitally reborn from Xibaipo, an unknown tiny village of Hebei. From Xibaipo to Beijing, a brand-new China came in shape.
